Tips for playing in a no icon environment. Section I

Hey it's 2012, times are changing.. With quality 1920x1080 42"-46" monitors now priced @ $500 and dropping, along with tools like track ir, we are seeing more and more folks moving toward a no icon environment.
Hardware:
It's the best way to look for contacts, and greatly improves your situational awareness. not necessary but it adds immersion
2. A big monitor =Eyecandy.
It also takes flight simming to an entirely new level. Quality 1920x1080 42"-46" monitors are now priced @ $500 and dropping.
Here is a typical set up for no icons: 42 inch 1920x1080 Lcd 2ms response time @ 60 hrtz native resolution. The size of the monitor far surpasses a higher resolution on a smaller monitor.... Bigger is immersing! .
3. Use the GUN SITE as a Rangefinder "
Many ask me, "without icons, how do I know how far away the contact is?"
Your gun site will help you understand how far away an object is, based on it's size, relative to your target reticule.

4. Fundamentals of Gunnery
Your survivability is greatly increased if your gunnery is good.. It's imperative to eliminate threats using as little ammunition as possible. You must develop the skills to dispatch threats quickly, with neither malice nor remorse.
